Battery Notice
Notes on Battery Disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
You can return used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range, either at your own expense or free of charge at our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can drop off the batteries at local collection points.
As an end-user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or properly disposed of.
Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that the battery must not be placed in household waste.
For batteries containing a certain mass of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following additions below the crossed-out dustbin symbol indicate the respective harmful substances:
- Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
- Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium
- Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury
Information on the costs included according to Article 56 (4) of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the "Batterie-Zurück" initiative.
